چکیده

We consider a multi-period order selection problem in ̄exible manufacturing systems, which is the problem of selecting orders to be produced in each period during the upcoming planning horizon with the objective of minimising earliness and tardiness costs and subcontracting costs. The earliness and tardiness costs are incurred if an order is not ®nished on time, while subcontracting cost is incurred if an order is not selected within the planning horizon (and must be subcontracted) due to processing time capacity or tool magazine capacity. This problem is formulated as a 0±1 integer program which can be transformed into a generalised assignment problem. To solve the problem, a heuristic algorithm is developed using a Lagrangian relaxation technique. Effectiveness of the algorithm is tested on randomly generated problems and results are reported.

CREDIBILITY-BASED FUZZY PROGRAMMING MODELS TO SOLVE THE BUDGET-CONSTRAINED FLEXIBLE FLOW LINE PROBLEM

This paper addresses a new version of the exible ow line prob- lem, i.e., the budget constrained one, in order to determine the required num- ber of processors at each station along with the selection of the most eco- nomical process routes for products. Since a number of parameters, such as due dates, the amount of available budgets and the cost of opting particular routes, are imprecise (fuzz...

MULTI-OBJECTIVE ROUTING AND SCHEDULING IN FLEXIBLE MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS UNDER UNCERTAINTY

The efficiency of transportation system management plays an important role in the planning and operation efficiency of flexible manufacturing systems. Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) are part of diversified and advanced techniques in the field of material transportation which have many applications today and act as an intermediary between operating and storage equipment and are routed and contr...

Multi-Objective Lead Time Control in Multistage Assembly Systems (TECHNICAL NOTE)

In this paper we develop a multi-objective model to optimally control the lead time of a multistage assembly system. The multistage assembly system is modeled as an open queueing network, whose service stations represent manufacturing or assembly operations. The arrival processes of the individual parts of the product, which should be assembled to each other in assembly stations, are assumed to...

Multi-criteria Decision Making Approach: selection of Blanking Die Material (TECHNICAL NOTE)

Proper selection of material in manufacturing firms is a vital role of designer depending upon the different era of application. The material selection problem is very complex and challenging task today. Erroneous cull of material frequently leads to astronomically immense cost involution, and finally drives towards unfortunate component or product breakdown. Thus, the designer necessitates dis...

A Multi-objective Mathematical Model for Sustainable Supplier Selection and Order Lot-Sizing under Inflation

Recently, scholars and practitioners have shown an increased interest in the field of sustainable supplier selection and order lot-sizing. While several studies have recently carried out on this field, far too little attention has been given to formulating a multi-objective model for the integrated problem of multi-period multi-product order lot-sizing and sustainable supplier selection under i...
